Phil DonnisonA Chartered Occupational Psychologist based in the UK, Philip works with individuals who are high achievers in their chosen field. His range of practice includes one-to-one coaching, process facilitation and workshop-based programmes. In all his work Philip makes extensive use of practical, interactive approaches to development to ensure that the managers he works with gain the most from their involvement in the range of learning activities he delivers.

Philip has been designing and delivering leadership programmes since 1984 for teams and leaders from most sectors of industry. He is retained as coach and mentor to senior managers and executives by organisations from around the world. He specialises in coaching based around psychometric profiling using a wide range of personality tests and 360-degree questionnaires. Working with management teams he provides robust, action-centred facilitation for teams to develop the way they work together.

His use of action-based approaches is founded on his long-term experience of how effectively experiential learning is able to bring about sustainable improvements in the performance of teams and individuals. As a strong advocate and exponent of active methods of learning he uses many techniques which he researched for his doctoral thesis into experiential learning in the outdoors. This introduced many new ways of thinking about the design of programmes which use experiential learning methods. He has presented his conclusions to a number of international conferences.

Philip gained his Ph.D. in Management Learning at Lancaster University and a Masters Degree in Occupational Psychology from the University of London. He is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and listed in their Register of Chartered Psychologists. He is also a regular guest lecturer at Manchester Business School and Edinburgh University, and writes on training and development matters for McGraw Hill, Croner Publications and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
