As organisations implement their own versions of ‘hybrid working’ teams may face a new set of challenges. In many ways, the managing of ‘hybrid working’ will place even greater demands on team dynamics than the urgent shift to remote working we all faced due to the pandemic.
To ensure teams are ready to improve and increase productivity during a transition into the new world of hybrid working The Oakridge Centre is providing a development programme specifically designed for those ‘hybrid’ teams. This unique programme includes the following modules:
|Team Effectiveness||Increase collaboration and connectivity across a hybrid team. Teams need to create a sense of common purpose and shared values while working in different locations. This module enables teams to build on their strengths and celebrate collaboration|
|Taking Others with You||Dealing with apparent or potential ‘them and us’ situations. Team leaders need to increase their ability to influence others, articulate their expectations and engage their team in a positive way towards achieving both personal and organisational goals|
|Managing Change||Clearly explaining the need for change and the benefits of change. The pandemic created a change in working practices on a global scale. The new hybrid workplace will also involve change and teams will need a clear plan for taking change forward|
|Engaging Conversations||Managing pay and performance reviews, managing ‘change adversity’. Team leaders will need to be ready to have challenging conversations with their team as new hybrid working practices are embedded. Team leaders can create a more engaging culture through collective and individual conversations|
|Strategic Decision Making||When and why team members will be required to be in the office or work from home. Key decisions will have to be made that will impact the whole team. This module introduces a McKinsey seven-step model together with a range of decision-making tools to enable team members to take timely and effective decisions|
|Coaching for Performance||Bring the best out of others, develop talent and allay COVID-related fears. Team leaders will need to be able to address any anxiety their team feels and any associated levels of burnout. These skills will be essential to maintain any productivity gains or improve productivity reductions, seen during the pandemic|
|Emotional Intelligence||Awareness of your own emotional intelligence to help develop better teams. Team members who recognise their own strengths and identify their own development areas will be better equipped to perform effectively. Emotionally intelligent teams will be the core differentiator for success post-pandemic|
As organisations continue to develop their unique versions of the hybrid workplace it is those who invest in their people development that will see the benefits of hybrid working most quickly.
