International Women’s Day 2019 – #BalanceforBetter #IWD2019

Our event is hosted in rooms 3 & 4 at Centurion House, 129 Deansgate, Manchester on Friday 8th March 2019. Free for everyone to attend from 11.30am until 2.30am to celebrate International Women’s Day, join us and meet our team!

To celebrate International Women’s Day 2019, we are hosting a free event at our offices in Manchester City Centre, and we would love to welcome you, and your colleagues, to attend.

This event is open to all males and females, to celebrate this day!, and we thought what better venue than to do this at our new offices which we moved into at the end of January this year. It’s also a great opportunity to meet our team.

Additional to the International Women’s day celebrations – we do tend to host a ‘client open event’ every year – and this topic really supported an opportunity to do so once again this year.

We would love to welcome as many of our colleagues and clients to attend. I’m sure you all appreciate the importance this auspicious day brings – alongside catching up with and meeting the Oakridge team!

The International Women’s Day theme is #BalanceforBetter. It’s about equality and making things different and better for us all within our working environments, and personally.

The call to action for #BalanceforBetter is to drive gender balance across the world. Gender balance is essential for economies and communities to thrive and not only to survive – in education, in manufacturing, in SME businesses as well as the public sector industries; from healthcare, charities to environment sectors too, which includes human performance and mental health concerns.

Gender balance is not a women’s issue – it’s a business issue.

Although research suggests that it will be several decades before there is something approaching gender balance in boardrooms, there is strong evidence showing a link between more women in senior positions and companies’ strong financial positions.

You are welcome to drop in for a chat, stay for the entire session, or just pop in to join us for lunch.

There will be plenty of activities for you to take part in if you wish such as top tips, great discount offers, networking – and lunch too! What more could you ask for, for a couple of hours out your working day…

There will also be a prize draw – so please do bring your business cards to enter. Prizes include a ‘Futures’ Career Workbook – a tool developed by Oakridge to help you plan your future at work; a two-hour one-to-one coaching session with Oakridge’s managing director, Brigit Egan; and a delegate place on our STRIDE programme – a six-month leadership development programme for women.

Please feel free to share this invitation with your friends and colleagues and please do contact kirstie.weatherley@oakridgecentre.co.uk to reserve your place.

You can also contact tracey.crampton@oakridgecentre.co.uk for any other queries and to book too.

We look forward to welcoming you to our event!

The Oakridge Team
