Oakridge’s Leadership for Women programme was launched at the end of 2013 and evolved from research we conducted following a series of focus groups.
The focus groups, made up of some of the north west’s leading businesswomen and men, have been instrumental in identifying the opportunities, and gaps, within present business structures towards women advancing their career into management and leadership roles.
“At each stage of the research and development, the support and feedback from the focus group has been instrumental in the development of this programme,” explains Deborah. “The researched helped us to develop a programme that not only identifies and addresses ‘Why’ women are not moving as readily into leadership roles today as quickly as their male colleagues, but it helped us to develop a programme that guides and leads women in management on ‘How’ to achieve success to help them progress into the leadership roles they aspire to. It is not also about addressing diversity issues within organisations, it is helping women in management into those roles they have the right experience to deliver in.”
The programme is not only for individuals but for organisations too. The outcomes following completion of the programme, in its analysis and support, will provide the coaching support for both the individual wishing to progress, as well as the organisation spear-heading the need,” says Deborah.
